Show Notes

Welcome to the SYNC Your Life podcast episode #78! On this podcast, we will be diving into all things women’s hormones to help you learn how to live in alignment with your female physiology. Too many women are living with their check engine lights flashing. You know you feel “off” but no matter what you do, you can’t seem to have the energy, or lose the weight, or feel your best. This podcast exists to shed light on the important topic of healthy hormones and cycle syncing, to help you gain maximum energy in your life.

In today’s episode, I’m covering the things we can do that our in our control when it comes to infertility. If you are someone struggling with infertility, this podcast is for you. If you know someone who is, share this out! There are so many great tips here that can help so many.

Infertility affects 1 in 7 couples. I believe unexplained infertility often correlates to a lack of body awareness.

My tips:

1. You CAN and will get through this!

2. Track your cycle. Check out this podcast I did on cycle tracking. You can find a SYNC scope for saliva testing here.

3. It takes two to tango. Make sure males are getting checked! Semen analysis and varicocele exams by a urologist are both crucial. Check out my episode on male fertility here.

4. Address painful periods. Check out my episode on endometriosis and painful periods here.

5. DUTCH test. Every cycling woman should be doing annual DUTCH tests to assess their menstrual health. I like the DUTCH complete + cortisol. You can find the test here. Use the code jsl100 to save $100. Find a functional medicine practitioner to help you assess your results and get to the root cause.

6. Luteal phase dysfunction. Tracking your cycles and testing with DUTCh can help you determine if this is an issue for you.

7. Consider progesterone support via bioidentical hormone therapy. This isn’t for everyone, but finding a practitioner knowledgeable on BioHRT can be an amazing thing.

8. Come off of hormonal birth control sooner than you think. It can take 3-6 months or longer for your cycles to regulate. Remember, ovulation is suppressed when you’re on oral contraceptives.

9. Focus on regulating your blood sugar. Check out this episode I did on this topic.

10. Lifestyle factors play an enormous role in infertility. Consider limiting alcohol use, ceasing tobacco use, and getting your weight and metabolic health into the correct metrics.
