Welcome to the SYNC Your Life podcast episode #158! On this podcast, we will be diving into all things women’s hormones to help you learn how to live in alignment with your female physiology. Too many women are living with their check engine lights flashing. You know you feel “off” but no matter what you do, you can’t seem to have the energy, or lose the weight, or feel your best. This podcast exists to shed light on the important topic of healthy hormones and cycle syncing, to help you gain maximum energy in your life.
In today’s episode, I’m diving into the topic of LEA: Low Energy Availability. LEA, in lamen’s terms, is underfueling for your activity level. 47% of female athletes are living in a state of LEA. And if you’re working out at home, training for a 5k/half marathon, working out in the gym… you are a female athlete! Understanding fuel timing and overall caloric needs is crucial to reaching optimum performance, in exercise and in life.
In this episode, I reference this previous episode on low ferritin/low iron.
The article I reference by Dr. Stacy Sims can be found here.
