It’s so true!

Those of us who are training like athletes are also eating like athletes, which means we’re constantly fueling our body throughout the day with healthy fats, lean proteins, and carbohydrates. We keep snacks in our purse or backpack 24/7 so that we NEVER go hungry while we wait on friends, travel for work, or whatever our busy schedule entails.

So we figured, why not share our favorite snacks with YOU? We’ve even offered Fix container equivalents. Yeah. You’re welcome.

Top 10 Healthy Snacks (as per your Body Electric Coaching family)

Note: This is assuming you’ve already had your dedicated daily dose of dense nutrition in Shakeology, either as a meal or a snack. If not, go to it for your #1 craving crusher!

  1. 100-calorie packs of nuts. (1 orangeEmerald brand makes these in the little green packets, and they are lifesavers in a pinch! Keep them on hand for a protein/healthy fat energy burst mid-morning or mid-afternoon.
  2. Apple nachos. (1 apple with 2 Tbsp. PB = 1 Purple, 6 tsp.) Yes, we said it. And now you won’t be able to get it out of your mind until you have them! These are kid-friendly and DELICIOUS. (And the best part is: They don’t even have to be arranged on a pretty platter to taste good). Slice an apple, drizzle with natural peanut or almond butter, and slivered almonds.
  3. Sugar snap peas or edamame (fill 1 Green container). The act of eating these puppies is work in itself, which satisfies your jaw muscles and salivary glands. Plus, it helps get those greens in!
  4. Sliced cucumber and string cheese. (fill 1 Green container with cucumber, 1 Blue) Need we say more?
  5. Popcorn drizzled in 1 Tbsp. coconut oil or grass-fed (we suggest Kerrygold unsalted) butter. (2 Yellows + 3 tsp.) This puts movie theatre popcorn to shame, friends.
  6. Nitrate-free turkey breast slices with grapes. (3 slices = 1 Red, 1 PurpleKeep the turkey rolled up and in a Ziploc, ready for devouring.
  7. Greek yogurt and a handful of blueberries. (1 Red, 1 PurpleHere, you’re getting your antioxidants in along with your probiotics.
  8. Have you seen these? (1 YellowChocolate-covered brown rice crisps are DA BOMB. Low in calories AND they satisfy your sweet tooth.
  9. Ezekiel toast with 1 Tbsp. peanut butter. (1 Yellow, 3 tsp.) Ezekiel bread can typically be found in the freezer section of your grocer. What makes it so good for you? It’s entirely whole grain, low sodium (go for the orange packaging), and full of nutrition. Pop a slice in the toaster and top with peanut butter for a yummy treat!
  10. Hardboiled egg sprinkled with pepper. (1/2 RedYes, this gets back to meal prepping… Having those eggs ready and on hand makes snacking so much easier!
