[00:00:00] Jenny Swisher:
[00:00:58] Jenny Swisher: Welcome friends to this episode of the Sync Your Life podcast. Today I’m sharing with you my holiday gift guide for 2023. Tis the holiday season and I have done this type of thing every year for 10 years. I’ve put together a list of my favorite things from the year. that I can share with you for gifting purposes.
[00:01:15] Jenny Swisher: Maybe you’re going to gift yourself, maybe you’re going to gift a friend, but hopefully you find something in this list that you’re really excited about asking for or gifting this holiday season. So without further ado, let’s dive in. Now, just know this. I will as always link everything up for you in the show notes.
[00:01:30] Jenny Swisher: So there are a lot of these items that I’m listing that have current promotions right now during the holidays. So I’m going to include promo codes for you. If I have them and there will be direct links for you in the show notes to go directly to the product pages. I’m making it easy for you. Just swipe up, click on the button and it’ll take you where you need to go and pay attention to those promo codes.
[00:01:49] Jenny Swisher: So the first place that I want to start is with the oura ring. Now, if you’ve been listening to the podcast for any amount of time, it’s no surprise that I would list this first. The Oura Ring has given me such great insight into my sleep and my heart rate variability this year. Now, I’ve been using it for two years now.
[00:02:07] Jenny Swisher: So I’m really a nerd when it comes to the Aura Ring. I wake up every morning and it’s the very first thing that I do. Now, I know people are out there saying things like, don’t open your phone. Don’t get on social media first thing in the morning. It’s bad for your brain, right? I don’t hop on social media first thing in the morning.
[00:02:21] Jenny Swisher: I hop on my Oura app to see how well I slept. True story. It gives me amazing insights. Things like heart rate variability to help you know how well you’re recovering each day, how good of deep and REM sleep are you truly getting, which if you’ve listened to this podcast, you know is essential to your hormone health and your overall health as a whole.
[00:02:40] Jenny Swisher: It also looks at different things like body temperature, which for females can be really beneficial in tracking your cycle. During the first half of your cycle your body temperature is low and then after ovulation when progesterone starts to rise The body temperature is higher So the cycle prediction feature of the Oura ring is also really really cool So I really like it as my top biohacking tool that I use in my life day to day now I do know some people swear by the woop band.
[00:03:07] Jenny Swisher: I’ve heard great things about it as well I just Choose the Oura ring. It’s very easy to wear. You can wear it on any finger and it’s a really great addition to your bio hacking plan. So I will link it up for you in the show notes. Of course, moving on to number two is the SYNC your life 2023 planner. Now, shameless plug.
[00:03:23] Jenny Swisher: I did create this planner, but I created it for myself and for other women who want to be living in alignment with their menstrual cycles. So we had one last year. We’ve tweaked it a bit this year and I think it is fantastic. It gives you insights into the menstrual phases you’re in so that you can really align your workouts, your nutrition, your productivity, and the relationships in your life around your cycle so that you’re really leveraging your hormonal energy.
[00:03:50] Jenny Swisher: Now, for women listening to this who maybe don’t have a menstrual cycle, maybe you’re on birth control or you’re post menopause or you’ve had a hysterectomy and you don’t know what your cycle is. You can still sync up with the moon. So in this year’s planner, we have a moon feature where we show you the full and new moons each month to help you really sync up to those moons.
[00:04:09] Jenny Swisher: So it’s really, really, really cool. You know that moon syncing is a thing, my friend, right? Like it’s not just frou frou, it is for real. So the Sync Your Life Planner is a great addition to your organizational library heading into 2023. Number three on the list is life boost coffee. Now you might think, wow, she made a big jump here and yes, I’m going to coffee.
[00:04:30] Jenny Swisher: I know that most Americans drink coffee, but I also know that most Americans are drinking unhealthy coffee. Coffee that is loaded with mycotoxins, mold toxins, preservatives, and in some cases, things you don’t want to know about, right? And so a lot of times people don’t realize that when they’re buying what they think is a healthy coffee from even a health food store, it’s really laden with chemicals and things that are not serving their body and not serving their hormones.
[00:04:57] Jenny Swisher: So, coffee is a big culprit of endocrine disruption. And I want to make sure that I give you my absolutely tried and true favorite brand of coffee, which is Lifeboost. Lifeboost is mycotoxin and mold free. It is third party tested, shade grown organic coffee. It comes in a variety of different natural flavors.
[00:05:15] Jenny Swisher: I absolutely love the buttercream and the coconut cream flavors. Those are my favorite, but I also just like the dark roast I’m a dark roast kind of girl So i’ll link it up for you in the show notes as well If you’ve never heard of it now is the time to try switch over your coffee from that Folgers or whatever you’ve got in the cabinet to a healthier coffee for you.
[00:05:35] Jenny Swisher: Number four on the list is momentous creatine. Now I started using creatine this year and it’s part of my supplement regimen. I actually will consume it every day post workout and I even consume it on the days that I don’t work out. If there’s one supplement in the industry that has been studied the most on women, So we can feel safe and assured knowing that it is very beneficial for our health.
[00:05:58] Jenny Swisher: I will link up for you in the show notes an episode that I did previously on the power of creatine, in case you want to hear that research for yourself, but especially if you are a training female or a female entering perimenopause. This creatine is a great, great solution for you in helping aid your bone density, your muscle mass as you get older, right?
[00:06:18] Jenny Swisher: So I’m going to link it up for you. Momentous is the brand. It’s the same brand that is endorsed by Dr. Stacey Sims. She is partnered with, the lab that creates Momentous brand. And I’m a huge fan of the creatine monohydrate being the only ingredient in your creatine powder, which is the case with Momentous.
[00:06:35] Jenny Swisher: So I will link that up for you in the show notes as well. Next on the list is seed cycling kits from Funkit Wellness. I had the great pleasure of interviewing Kate Morton, who is the founder and CEO of Funkit Wellness. They have some amazing new products that they just launched as well. So I’ll make sure to just link up their general website.
[00:06:53] Jenny Swisher: But they have seed cycling kits. That are designed for you to really make it easy for yourself to seed cycle, right? They are grounded seeds based on phases of your cycle. So you’ll get a bag in the mail That’s for your follicular phase that you can sprinkle into your smoothies or your salads or your meals And then you get a bag for your luteal phase that you eat, of course, in the luteal phase of your cycle It is absolutely brilliant and she has done the legwork on this to make it super super simple Love, love, love Funkin Wellness.
[00:07:20] Jenny Swisher: Now they did just come out with a maca collagen latte as well. So at the time of this recording, I placed my order for that two days ago, and I have yet to receive it. So when I get it, I will give you the true details on my social media as far as whether I like it or not. But I’m excited to try it because we know the benefits of collagen.
[00:07:39] Jenny Swisher: And we also know the benefits of maca, especially in perimenopausal and menopausal women. Maca plays a huge role in adrenal health. It plays a huge role in libido and sexual health. So I love this concoction from Kate Morton and Funk It Wellness. So again, I’ll link it up for you in the show notes. Next on the list is Organifi.
[00:07:59] Jenny Swisher: Organifi is something I don’t talk about enough, but it’s actually part of my daily regimen. Every night before bed, when my husband and I sit down to relax after my kids are finally asleep. They’re not always asleep, but once they’re asleep, that’s when we try to unwind. And I really like to indulge in a glass of gold or harmony from Organifi.
[00:08:19] Jenny Swisher: I like them both equally and I interchange them based on where I am in my cycle and how I’m feeling, but they have a really rich chocolaty taste. Tastes kind of like a hot chocolate or an elixir of some sort, like a hot cocoa blend. You can just get a steamy cup of water, mix in the powder, and it is literally delicious.
[00:08:36] Jenny Swisher: I like to add a little dollop of coconut cream on top, just to give it a little sweet flavor before I go to bed at night. And I love, love, love what it’s doing for my body. Lots of adaptogenic herbs, great for hormone balance. Again, that is Organifi Gold or Organifi Harmony. Both are incredible. Next on the list are EMF Rocks.
[00:08:56] Jenny Swisher: Now, I interviewed Justin Franson, who is the founder and CEO of EMF Rocks, and I just have to come back and circle back to you guys on this, because this is a huge testimonial. He gave me a, a free bag to try of the EMF Rocks to put under my bed at night to see how it improved my sleep. So, you might remember, in a few minutes ago, I was talking about the Oura Ring and how obsessed I am with the Oura Ring.
[00:09:19] Jenny Swisher: Well, before we did our podcast and before he sent me the EMF Rocks, I was only getting about an hour to an hour and 20 minutes per night of REM sleep. And after interviewing him and learning about the exposure to EMFs in our environment, the internet, in our house, like all the different things that are really disrupting my sleep that I never really knew about, I placed these rocks under my bed, and my deep and REM sleep have doubled since using these EMF rocks.
[00:09:46] Jenny Swisher: I know you’re probably thinking, oh here she goes again with that weird frou frou stuff, but I’m telling you, It is legit. Just my last night’s REM sleep was two hours and 24 minutes. So, I’m a believer in this. I will link up for you the EMF Rocks link in case you want to purchase some for yourself.
[00:10:02] Jenny Swisher: Really affordable. Place them under your bed or under your children’s bed. And also, go the extra mile of shutting off your internet and such at night when you go to bed just to protect yourself from those EMFs. Next on the list are household cleaners and skincare. Now I’m bundling this together because they’re coming from the same place.
[00:10:19] Jenny Swisher: For years, I have been getting people asking me all the time, what is your favorite toxin free skincare? What is your favorite toxin free household cleaners? Because people realize that endocrine disruption is a really big thing, especially in today’s society. The things you’re putting on your skin, your makeup, your body wash, your lotions, right?
[00:10:39] Jenny Swisher: And the things that you’re using to clean your house that you’re inhaling on a daily basis. These are all things that can really interrupt your hormones. They can disrupt your endocrine system. So by replacing and making simple swaps to other, you know, toxin free products, we can really do our hormones a good service.
[00:10:58] Jenny Swisher: So recently I was introduced to a brand called Hugh and Grace that has an amazing lineup of household cleaners, skincare, they have a collagen supplement that’s really legitimate as well, and a hydration formula. I’m loving everything from their line, but if you’re looking to make a swap when it comes to household cleaners, this is the brand I would recommend.
[00:11:16] Jenny Swisher: It is third party tested, um, just like we talked about with the coffee, that’s important when it comes to endocrine disruption. And again, they also have skincare and other options as well. So I will link that up for you. Next on the list is the Mira wand. Now I have only mentioned this maybe once or twice on the podcast, but I have been using a Mira wand since the summer, so probably about six months.
[00:11:38] Jenny Swisher: And it has been giving me amazing insight into my sex hormones and my menstrual cycle. Now, I realized that at the age of 40, I can’t believe I just said that, I’m entering 40, I can’t believe that I’m finally able to see what my menstrual cycle is doing on a day to day, week to week basis, thanks to the MiraWand.
[00:11:56] Jenny Swisher: So what you do is you just pee into a cup in the morning, first thing in the morning, and you have these little test strips that are disposable, like little paper test strips. You dip it into the urine and then you insert the wand the test strip into this device, right? It looks like a little egg shaped device.
[00:12:11] Jenny Swisher: It will calculate anything that you’re testing. So it can test your estrogen metabolites, your progesterone metabolites, your LH. It has, it has, I think, four different markers, and I’m not sure what the next one is. But I usually am testing those three markers to see when I ovulate, to see if my progesterone is rising as it should, to see if my estrogen levels are normal.
[00:12:31] Jenny Swisher: And it has been a godsend, really, in helping me determine my migraine triggers. If you’ve been listening to me, you know that my migraines have crept back in perimenopause and this MiraWand has really been helping me pick up on those patterns to figure out what those triggers are. Now I do realize that in perimenopause things can get a little bit crazy.
[00:12:49] Jenny Swisher: Cycles can get a little bit irregular, they can kind of start to be wonky, right? And so it’s really easy to say, like, well I don’t even know what I’m tracking at this point because it’s kind of like second puberty. But it can be really beneficial, especially if you’re trying to cycle sync. If you’re trying to get to the bottom of triggers for yourself and if you’re wanting to get a good baseline of where you are in that process.
[00:13:08] Jenny Swisher: So the Mira wand, I will link up for you on, uh, it’s an Amazon order, but I will link it up for you in the show notes. That way you can check it out for yourself. Now there are other devices on the market like the Mira wand. There is something called the Anito that is also getting a lot of good publicity.
[00:13:22] Jenny Swisher: So you can do your research. You can see which one you want to go with, but so far so good for me with the Mira wand.
[00:13:28] Jenny Swisher: Next on the list are frozen beef boxes from my favorite farm, Ripley Cove Farms, which happens to be from my hometown in Southeastern Indiana. I interviewed Chad Minders, the founder of the farm on the podcast, which I’ll link up for you in the show notes, but his grass finished regenerative farm is literally changing the world as it pertains to nutrition.
[00:13:49] Jenny Swisher: They’ve been doing extensive nutrient density testing on their cattle and their crops. And it’s literally mind blowing to see the differences between conventional beef. grass fed beef and their grass finished beef. There is a difference, my friends. So I will link up for you a link to Ripley Co. Farms so that you can get set up with a home fresh delivery of frozen beef.
[00:14:10] Jenny Swisher: Next on the list is the Lux Therapy Red Light Therapy. Now I interviewed the founder of this company, Tony Koviak, on the podcast as one of my very first episodes, one of my very first interviews as a baby podcaster. And at the beginning, I didn’t really know what to expect with this red light, but I have been using it almost daily for two years since that interview was done.
[00:14:31] Jenny Swisher: and I’m obsessed. It travels easily. It’s amazing for helping things like migraines, skin irritations, different types of chronic pain. I mean, you name it. Red light therapy can be really, really useful when it comes to balancing your hormones and overall health. I will link up the Lux therapy light for you in the show notes as well.
[00:14:51] Jenny Swisher: And then we have just two items left. My friends on my holiday gift guide list. Next are essential oils. Now I absolutely love Campo Beauty for essential oils. Now.
[00:15:01] Jenny Swisher: Here’s my story with essential oils. My friends , my friend Jen can tell you, she’s my yoga instructor. And years ago she would ask us at the end of a yoga class if it was okay to apply lavender oil on our forehead as she would kind of walk by during Shavasana and give us a little massage. I love the massage, love, you know, love my friend Jen, I don’t love Shavasana, I don’t love being still, and I don’t love the scents of essential oils.
[00:15:26] Jenny Swisher: Maybe it’s because I’m a migraineur, right? Maybe I’m just sensitive to smells, that’s very possible. But I have never been an essential oil person, and in fact, one of my good friends recently asked me, well, you know, why don’t you just, um, put some thieves in the house, and she was mentioning some different things about essential oils, and I said, listen, I cannot do.
[00:15:43] Jenny Swisher: Essential oils, like I just can’t do the smell. Well, when I interviewed Jessica Franson, the owner of Campo Beauty, I was really excited to try her essential oil blends because she made it sound so simple and so, I don’t know, like it smelled good, right?
[00:15:58] Jenny Swisher: I could already tell just from the conversation that they went above and beyond to create these blends. that were very relaxing and soothing. So I get my kit in the mail, and I’m telling you friends, I’ve never been more obsessed. I’ve been traveling with these little rollers. I have been, they’re in my nightstand, they’re in my purse, I’m taking them with me everywhere.
[00:16:15] Jenny Swisher: So even if you’re not an essential oil fan, I’m telling you, you might really like Campo Beauty oils. I will link them up for you in the show notes as well. And then last but not least, it would be remiss of me if I didn’t mention my online courses as being a great option for gifting this holiday season.
[00:16:33] Jenny Swisher: I have two courses currently with a third course launching in January. My first sort of homeship course is my Sync Digital course, how to fuel and train in alignment with your female cycle.
[00:16:44] Jenny Swisher: It’s really more than that. It’s more about finding a functional wellness journey, working with a functional practitioner, getting the proper testing that you need. aNd then ultimately learning how to properly cycle sync that is the sync digital course. I also have a course that I filmed with Dr.
[00:16:59] Jenny Swisher: Laura Brown called The Gut Microbiome. It’s all about body literacy when it comes to how the gut impacts our mood, impacts our digestion and impacts our life. Both of those courses are incredible, incredible courses. And then of course we have another course launching in January pertaining to fertility and I’m super excited about that.
[00:17:16] Jenny Swisher: So if you’re listening and you’re like, gosh, I’d really love to dig into the course. I’d really love. this to be gifted to me. Send this podcast to your spouse, to your friend, to whoever it is. Um, not only for themselves to listen to, but also for you as well. Say, Hey, this is what I really want to do in 2024 is get to the bottom of my hormone imbalance issues and live
[00:17:35] Jenny Swisher: my best most high energy life. Okay, my friends. That’s all I have for you today I could go on and on about different products and fashion wear that I like and fitness apparel and all the things but I tried to limit it to just my most impactful biohacking hormone health items. So these are really cool things that I keep in my pantry, in my closet, in my cabinets, in my car.
[00:17:57] Jenny Swisher: These are the things that I do not live without. So I hope you found something in here to ask for this holiday season or to gift yourself. Again, just swipe up. You can click on the show notes to find links to everything, including discount codes. If you have any questions, just let me know. But my friends, thank you so much for tuning in.
[00:18:12] Jenny Swisher: I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season. We’ll talk again next week. Bye bye.
