Objections are going to come your way as a online fitness Coach, so it’s best if you’re prepared. Of course, the best way to learn to receive and refute objections is to simply start inviting and learn as you go.

If you take only one thing away from this particular subject, know this:

It is not important for you to refute them with information. Everything is about the relationship.

What does that mean? It means that your responsibility is to best facilitate the conversation so that the focus is on the person with whom you’re speaking and their needs.

Check out this recorded video of Top Coaches Barbie Decker and Tommy Mygrant as they discuss handling objections.

Two key ways to handle objections are:

1. Feel, Felt, Found.

AND

2. I don’t know, all I know is…

Feel, Felt, Found refers to saying something to your potential client such as:

“I understand how you feel about [the cost]. I felt that way too, until I found a way to make it work. I now choose Shakeology over my daily Starbucks trip. Believe it or money, I’m spending less on my nutrition than I was on my daily sugar habit. Ha!”

The second option is to go the casual route by saying something like:

“I don’t know, all I know is that this stuff has changed my life. I believe in it, and I know it can help you.”

It’s important to know that objections will arise in this business. Often, the objection is merely an insecurity on the part of the client, and how you handle it is key. Remember that the absolute best thing you can do in the situation of an objection is to convey your passion and what this opportunity has done for you. People don’t refute experiences.
